The sound and colors of this piece came while sitting in the dark imagining what it would be like to walk down the streets of Paris or some other distant city late at night when only the jazz clubs are still open. Listening to Miles Davis’ “Kind of Blue” album as I pictured the various sounds of lyrical improvisation floating through the air and mixing in my ear, I began to piece together the colors of Miles Away as they mixed and blended in the passing wind.
